WHAT IS AQUA YOGA
Aqua Yoga Australia is taking yoga into the water.

It is is a thermal, aquatic activity, with modified movements and the principles of yoga to accommodate people of all fitness levels.
Results in increased strength, mobility, endurance and flexibility and is gentle for the joints. Waters buoyancy takes weight off your joints, making even difficult asanas feel effortless.

Doing yoga in water calms the mind and strengthens the nervous system. It also relieves fatigue and stress as well as strengthening our bodies deep muscles.
Aqua Yoga Australia offers help for students to improve balance, experience less pain and more comfort. Promote focus and coordination. Practice postures and techniques at a low risc, making it more accessible for everyone.

The floating meditation at the end of the practise gives you a feeling of weightlessness and the water helps the muscles to relax, relieve joint pain. Floating meditation as a way to heal, it helps you to connect with your body, release pain and stimulate your lymph system.

ABOUT
Founder of Aqua Yoga Australia is Frida Sethman who developed this form of yoga as an combination of previous experience, studies and expertise in: Aqua exercise, yoga, aqua therapy, dance and disability movement that she's been teaching for over the years.

Frida has found a way to manage and live with chronic pain from whiplash and back pain. She has recovered from PTSD. Aqua yoga has been a big part of her healing process.
As a yoga teacher, the land practice can sometimes aggravate her pain and increase fatigue. In water she experience less pain, more support and less stress. Healing a bulging disc with the help of water when everything else seemed hopeless. PTSD recovery that included the practise of mindfulness and floating meditation.

Exploring asanas in the water in an endless variety of ways, understanding the properties of the water - Buoyancy, viscosity and hydrostatic pressure, how this provides a supportive environment while practicing Aqua yoga.
Frida is making yoga more accessible. With the intention to provide a space for all abilities, together with the benefits of the water, movement and breath.
